Louis Vuitton: The Story behind the Bag

200423_BagImgs-67.jpg

This bag came to me in the summer of 2019, Oran, Algeria. This beautiful specimen came from a market in town, from a stall selling what we fondly call ‘house dresses’. (These are ankle length dresses, often patterned and embellished, meant for house wear only, perfect for keeping cool in those Mediterranean climates whilst you swan around the house.) This specific bag came carrying a house-dress-present from an auntie and is a good representation of all the fine pieces of designer goods that you can purchase in Algeria for bargain prices. Totally genuine of course. So genuine that they print their own bags.
